Punk, Emo and Hardcore music PR
We are a group of people who have lived and breathed punk-rock and its sub-genres from an early age.
From listening to the leftfield invention of Dischord and Touch & Go's output, to the thrill of picking up the Punk O Rama and Fat Wreck compilations and releases, putting out records in hardcore bands signed to leading UK indies, to playing No Idea's Fest in Gainesville, and writing fanzines that interviewed artists from labels like Victory, Deep Elm, Jade Tree and Epitaph in our teens and early twenties, it's been a real passion for us.
We're now working with a series of labels and bands who we feel are at the forefront of intelligent indie-punk, emo and hardcore today. Our close relationships with the brilliant and independent-minded Run For Cover, Frenchkiss, Topshelf, Big Scary Monsters, Double Double Whammy, Hassle, Triple Crown, Polyvinyl Records and Epitaph are just a few examples of this.
Take a look below for some of the artists we’ve helped develop in the UK over the years. From American Football to Touché Amoré via giants such as Weezer, Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids, all the way through to new breakthrough artists such as Oso Oso, Foxing and Great Grandpa, it’s a genre we love and spend a lot of time with.
The popularity of the genre continues to surge, and Prescription’s media knowledge and diverse range of contacts sees us creating opportunities for these artists in a wide range of outlets. We can help you reach the right people.
We’ve recently handled press campaigns for the likes of Spielbergs, whose debut album earned plaudits from the likes of Pitchfork, Alt Press, The Guardian, Stereogum, DIY, Dork, Upset, Total Guitar, Classic Rock, Louder Than War, Kerrang!, Q, Uncut and more.
Similarly, we’ve been proud to handle the press for both of Charly Bliss’s last records, gaining coverage from DIY, Dork, The Skinny, Q, Kerrang!, NME, VICE, Gold Flake Paint, Clash, MTV and more. During this time, the band has moved from playing The Old Blue Last (100 capacity) to The Scala (1000).
We also work with Australian newcomers Press Club on their debut record securing coverage at Alt Press, Aesthetica, Kerrang! (full-page review), Louder Than War, Punktastic, Upset, Dork, The i and Discovered.
We’d love to hear about your music – please do get in touch here.
