Praised by The New York Times for their "open-air, stargazing indie rock" following 2021's lauded A Billion Little Lights, ILYSM was co-produced by the groups leader John Ross, with Justin Pizzoferrato (Pixies, Body/Head, Speedy Ortiz) and Peter Silberman of The Antlers. It has so far seen praise from outlets like The New York Times, Pitchfork, The FADER, Stereogum and many more, and includes a star-studded cast of guest musicians including the aforementioned Julien Baker and J Mascis, as well as Ryley Walker, Yasmin Williams and Samantha Crain. ILYSM sees Wild Pink at their most bracingly personal, as the album's thematic focus is an examination of Ross' recent struggle with cancer.
On the track, "“See You Better Now” is the most straightforward love song on the album and definitely inspired by Tom Petty and Traveling Wilburys. It was one of the last songs I wrote for this album and a really fun song to record in the studio. It's still wild to me that J Mascis did the guitar solo on it. "
Wild Pink's ILYSM is out via Royal Mountain Records on October 14th. It is available for preorder here.
