Today, Auckland-based indie sensation Daily J returns with ‘Sunday Stitches,’ the second single from their highly anticipated third studio album.

This new single builds on the momentum of their May release, ‘Happy Slides,’ which continued the band's ascent following the success of their 2020 album Venus Ate Mars. That album marked a turning point, leading to an arena show supporting girl in red and a series of sold-out performances across their home continent of Oceania. Their recent UK debut tour was no exception, with packed venues across the country, culminating in a triumphant performance at All Points East in London's Victoria Park.

"Sunday Stitches’ is a punchy track that captures the familiar, bittersweet feeling of those repetitive Saturday nights and their melancholic aftermath. Once again teaming up with producer Joe Faris, who previously shaped the sound of their 2020 album Venus Ate Mars and the fan favourite ‘Left Me Like Summer,’ Daily J infuses ‘Sunday Stitches’ with fast-paced rhythms and uplifting, high-energy instrumentals. This track marks the beginning of a new era and sound for the band of brothers.

Vocalist and songwriter Jayden Paul the lyrical meaning behind ‘Sunday Stitches’ here: “I wrote Sunday Stitches about the emotional tug-of-war between succumbing to temporary relief and living a healthier lifestyle. It underscores themes of self-awareness, introspection, and the courage to confront personal demons.”

With Daily J's award-nominated song writing prowess, which has garnered accolades from prestigious publications like Rolling Stone and NME, the band has proven itself as a force to be reckoned with. Even during their debut live performance in the UK, they captivated audiences and critics alike, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene. Now, along with the anticipation of the imminent announcement of their third album, ‘Sunday Stitches’ proves that Daily J stands poised at the pinnacle of their artistic journey, ready to deliver their most compelling and powerful work yet. The forthcoming album promises to be a testament to their evolution, showcasing a band at the very height of their creative powers, blending emotion, innovation, and irresistible melodies.
