Today, South London’s unclassifiable 4-piece curios, Horsey, return with the announcement of their new single “Sippy Cup”. The single is out today and marks the band’s first new material since their 2019 EP “Bread & Butter”. The announcement is also accompanied by the news of the band’s signing to London tastemaker label untitled recs – home to the likes of Jerskin Fendrix, Famous, Brad Stank and more.

Clocking in at just under two minutes, Horsey’s hyperactive new offering sees the band traverse playful oddball pop, absurdist theatricality, and moments of avant-punk instrumentation that fragment and reassemble themselves at a frenetic pace. The band describe the new single “Sippy Cup” as being about “being, living and acting like a child.” This theme is reflected in the accompanying imagery, which shows Jacob Read and Theo McCabe together as children, with them and most of the band having been lifelong friends since nursery.

As an outfit that refused to be pigeonholed at every turn, “Sippy Cup” sees the band continue to beguile listeners whilst propelling the band into new musical territory with a surreal and inimitable intensity.

Alongside the new single Horsey have also shared a new video for “Sippy Cup”. Featuring a quickfire montage of videos from a hotdog processing plant and Anglo / Japanese karaoke-like onscreen lyrics, the video culminates in the band taking part in a manic, close-up hotdog eating contest.

Made up of Jacob Read (Jerkcurb), Theo McCabe, Jack Marshall and George Bass, Horsey have built a cult live following having toured with the likes of King Krule, Goat Girl and Hinds, as well as playing numerous sold-out shows across their hometown venues. Their previous single “Bread & Butter” also garnered the band early support at press and earlier this year the band featured on the highly praised Live At The Windmill fundraiser compilation alongside the likes of Kae Tempest, black midi, BC, NR, Shame, Meat Raffle, PVA and more.
