Music festival PR
Your ideal partner for music festival or event PR
In 2019 we’re enjoying a festival scene like none we’ve ever experienced before.
All-dayers, weekenders, cruises and beach parties are everywhere and while that’s certainly healthy for the live circuit and the paying public, if you’re a promoter, with such increased competition, selling out these types of events has become ever more challenging.
However, a carefully-constructed music festival PR strategy can really pay dividends when it comes to generating awareness and building anticipation for an event — and this is where we can help.
Our work in music festival PR began back in the summer of 2011 when we were brought on board by boutique Manchester festival Cloud 9, who had booked Ed Sheeran as their headliner. A sell-out success brought us to the attention of the world’s most revered live folk event, The Cambridge Folk Festival, for whom we ran online music PR for over 6 years, including for their 50th anniversary celebrations.
As an integral part of their marketing plans, delivering both niche and mainstream coverage, we ensured the right media were excited, and that the most influential writers attended each year. In 2014 the festival was given the BBC Radio 2 “Good Tradition” Folk Award. We’ve also worked with the same team on The Cambridge Folk Festival’s sister festival The City Roots.
Additionally, we’ve helped to sell out Bearded Theory Festival, the Shiiine On Festival weekender, worked on several of the Handmade Festival events, and most recently the Kate Rusby-curated event Underneath The Stars.
We’ve also run PR for an incredibly diverse array of events in the shape of Lockdown Festival, Penn Fest, and the Let’s Rock series. Similarly, we also handled the press for ATP Iceland, featuring Public Enemy, Iggy Pop and Godspeed! You Black Emperor.
In 2019 we handled press for the EU-funded EuroNoize song contest, featuring avant-garde DIY artists from around Europe such as Winny Puhh and Hassan K.
We’ve had coverage in a huge range of media for these events, including DAZED, DJ Mag, Classic Pop, The FADER, The Guardian, The i, Mixmag, The Line Of Best Fit, The Sun, Good Morning Britain, Sky News, NME, Metro, TimeOut, DIY, Kerrang!, Novara Media, BBC Radio 6 Music, The Telegraph, Songlines and a number of regional papers and radio shows.
